Steve Wright

Hello there. Good morning, good afternoon, wherever you are. My name is Steve Wright. I'm the head of Docusign, public sector alliances. First, let's take a look at the agenda real quick here. So, we're going to start with some introductions. Then I'm going to kick it off to Sabih Khan, who's going to discuss all the good stuff that sales force is doing in the public sector, especially the Public Safety and Justice space. Then it's going to come back to me, where I'm going to talk a little bit about Docusign and our partnerships with sales force. All right, so I think we can go into some quick Intros of who you'll be hearing from today. So, we'll start with Sabih Khan. He's the industry advisor for Public Safety and Justice. He currently serves as the global industry leader for public safety and just at Salesforce. In this role, he serves as the subject matter expert for the company, its customers and sales force technologies, specifically around digital transformation, business automation, AI, data analytics and data management. In addition to that, he leads Salesforce go to market strategy, technology solutions for public safety agencies across the country. And Sabih spent 15 years in various public safety roles prior to joining Salesforce, he served as the Deputy Chief of strategic initiatives Division at the Chicago Police Department. Like I said myself, I'm the head of Docusign public sector alliances. I have over 20 years experience within, inside government, alongside government. Prior to Docusign, I held leadership roles at several global software companies focused on the public sector. I spent time at DHS GSA and the army. With the bulk of my time at as a contracting officer at GSA. So, with that, we're gonna go ahead and hand it off to Sabih now to talk a little bit about Salesforce.

Sabih Khan

Thank you, Steve, thanks everyone for joining. And I'll be pretty short, but I wanted to really talk about and set the level playing field for who is Salesforce and what we've been doing over the past number of years. So, we've been pioneering innovation around AI and the public sector since 2014 In fact, the salesforce.com at the time, AI research was founded in 2014 within a couple of years, we brought in our first predictive AI for customer relationship management was launched a few years later. In 2020 we really launched public sector solutions, which you'll see right there. PSS launch, and that was developed specifically for local, state and federal government agencies that wanted more of an accelerator on sales force. So we started with grants management, licensing and permit management, inspection management, and then over the few years, we've added more enhancements to it, so employee experience, we've added blue business rules, engines and benefit management, and obviously, we just recently launched agent force, which is our newest technology for AI capabilities when it comes to government, you know, for me, a big thing is, is developing more solutions for Public Safety and Justice on the Salesforce platform. This is what our future really entails right now and where we're really focusing on. So, the first and foremost, we have seen a robust adoption of the sales source platform for legal case management. So this could be for prosecutors, public defenders, law departments, really any judicial process that manages the legal case, just to being able to create automated workflows, document generation and relationship identity management with our legal case management, we've seen this being adopted by public defenders such as the Los Angeles Public Defenders, all the way up to city departments that manage legal cases. The second area that we're really investing in heavily and that we recently launched is complaint and investigative case management. And these accelerators develop more for Office of Attorney Generals that do investigations or take complaints against consumer protection fraud all the way to civil rights violations. We're seeing agencies both at the federal law enforcement level, looking at sales forces, investigative case management system or their complex investigations. And then we're also seeing a lot of regulatory investigatory agencies as well. They'll think about Department of Public Safety in Wisconsin, who does licensing for occupation licensing, and then in takes complaints that come in for violations of. Those licenses as well. The solution is really developed for a guided and dynamic complaint intake, so that it's easier for the public to make those complaints, and it's more understandable, but it also creates a unified approach for people, entities, relationships and the document management of that system. And I know Andrew is going to go in more detail about this, and I think it will really showcase the capabilities of platform technology being used for investigations. And the third one, which one of the areas that I'm most excited about, is our new emerging market of court case management. We are developing solutions with our partners in both civil and criminal courts, both appeals, probation tribunals, specialty courts, online e filing is an area that we think there's been a lack of innovation and investment in, and it is something that we as a company really want to invest in to bring justice and access to justice for everybody. And I will, I'll focus on both the complaints investigated case management and the courts case management just for a little bit before we move forward. So, for investigations, case management, you know, I spent a number of years as an investigator myself. It's very clear sometimes when the software system is extremely archaic or extremely rigid for a changing time, I remember when all of a sudden, you know, we had to start dumping cell phone data or information into our investigations. And our solutions were not developed for that type of intake in that data reporting and capabilities. So, in this case, we really want to develop a solution that would navigate high volume of complex cases. This is where you have numerous people, relationships, entities, documents and evidence, both in video format or in document format, that can really help you have a unified picture of your investigation, but can also really help with guided flows, especially if new investigators or new procedures that have not been well established. We've noticed that it helps reduce the time and resolution, and we are trying our best to really improve our investigation case management with new AI technology that could be case briefings, document generation, it can really be next best steps and guided flows for your investigators all the way to initial review of a complaint or criminal investigation that comes in to identify the probability of solving that type of crime as well. And we really started investing in formulating a evidence driven decision making with really enhancing the capabilities that our system has in being able to manage evidence, especially when you have large trolls of digital evidence that any complex current investigation will have. And on the next slide, real quick, I wanted to just quickly hit on our courts information as well. So, you know, we've heard this over and over again. There's a growing backlog within the court systems that's difficult to schedule. Primarily, a lot of the court systems throughout the United States are paper based, or the law enforcement entity brings paper copies, and then somebody manually enters in, you know, the arrest report, the case report, the charges, and then it's a burden on the clinical staff and the changing policies and workflows. What's a very rigid software system and with the analytics, with AI scheduling, with E-filing, all the way to digital docket management, the automation, efficiency in a low code configuration, we really want to revitalize and disrupt this market, to bring what is low code, no code platforms to the justice space. And I really want to focus on that last one for a second, because laws change, policies change, and a lot of agencies, a lot of core systems, are confined to their software system the way it functions, and may have function the last 10 years, and one of the things we really want to change is giving the customers or the ports, the capabilities to be able to own their own system without having to manage their own system. And that means being able to change workflows, add new data fields, be able to create new pages and really have the ownership of their system without really having the burden of owning their system. We really want to mention what is sales forces point of view within the justice system. I think this quote makes it the best. It's those in the justice system deserve the best and breed solutions, and we want to partner with the best technology in the market to bring a suite of solutions that enhance the experience for all. And what this really means is that we don't want to be a closed software system. We don't want to say you can only use our system and only our system. We want to partner with some of the best technology out there, so you have. A stack of best in breed solutions, and that's why we started working really closely with Docusign. We recognize what Docusign brings to both the Public Safety and Justice market, and we said, hey, let's work with some of the best out there, so that the customers aren't just buying or purchasing or investing in one system, but a suite of systems that can that have been proven to be the best in what they do. And I think that's fundamentally what makes us different than a lot of the current private sector companies within the Justice space who say, Look, you gonna buy our system, and you have to use our analytics, you have to use our payment system, our X, Y, Z system. We don't want to come into the market with that. We want to be able to come into the market with our customers having the choice to choose what they want to use and what they don't want to use. So really, I think that's it. From my end, I'm going to hand it over back to Steve to talk a little bit about that partnership and a little bit about Docusign. Thank you for your time today.

Steve Wright

Great. Thanks, Sabih. What I'm really going to talk about for a few minutes, is the partnership and what Docusign is doing in this space. You know, when Sabih and I first connected, I got really excited, because we've been doing this for a long time our companies. I mean, more than 10 years. I think it's closer to 20 years, actually, Docusign and Salesforce, so we've been co innovating together tons of joint customers, you know, delivering better solutions. And from my perspective as a former government buyer, as a former government user, that's really what we need. We need industry to come together, to come help government, you know, inform our decisions, inform our requirements, all those sorts of things to have best in breed. You know, solutions. It's a better value for the agency. It's a better value for the taxpayers and constituents. When companies like ours come together. So just a little deeper on that. You know, you go back to 2006 we first started forming partnerships. You know, the Justice Department, not the Justice Department, judicial processes and public safety in general is, you know, the backbone of the country. So, I got really excited, like I said, you know, Sabih, we started looking at use cases and what they were doing in this space. And, you know, we started thinking about integrations. And, you know, what does that partnership look like? How do we go to market together? And, you know, I think it's just like the best example of these companies coming together at a specific, targeted industry that we're going after join Lee and addressing specific needs. So, you can really have tailor made solutions. It's not just a one size fits all. Like we're really looking at judicial processes, all sorts of processes back office as well, too. And what you're going to see today from the platform and Docusign is, you know, really just, it's just a great example of us coming together. We do a lot in Public Safety and Justice. So -warrants, you'll see is highlighted there all the different types of warrants that's going to be part of the demo that you'll see. So that's why it's highlighted. But the other areas as well too. There's a lot more, as you all know, that goes into Public Safety and Justice. I mean, the mission support that is around asset management, evidence control, HR onboarding, all the constituent facing aspects as well, too. We do a lot there. And I think everyone knows Docusign for our, of course, our E signature, you know, you need a mortgage, need a loan. But really, when we connect with a platform like Salesforce, that's where the real value, because that document has to be generated somewhere. It has to be routed. It has to be saved, archived, you know, centrally stored place, and so once you start having all that pre and post signature activities with a platform like a CRM, like sales force, that's where you really get the most value out of Docusign.
